Unit 1: 1.1.1 Hospitality and catering providers The resource includes a PowerPoint presentation, with starter and plenary activities, a video and two worksheets (one of which is incorporated into the PowerPoint and will need to be printed). The resource covers residential service (specifically hotels): • rooms: single, double, king, family, suite (en-suite bath/shower room, shared facilities) • refreshments: breakfast, lunch, evening meal, 24-hour room service/restaurant available • conference and function facilities • leisure facilities (spa, gym, swimming pool). It will take between 1-2 lessons depending on the ability of pupils.

WJEC Hospitality and Catering; 1.2.2 Customer requirements The resource includes: A Powerpoint presentation looking at the different types of customer and their needs (business, leisure, local) and a worksheet based on this (slide 13 of the PowerPoint will need to be printed). Part 2 of the PowerPoint focuses on customer rights and equality, looking at relevant legislation. There are two case studies for pupils to complete, and an extension worksheet for more able pupils. The resource will take 2 lessons, and includes 2 starter and plenary activities.

This resource covers customer demographics and special dietary requirements. There is information summarising development and dietary requirements through the life stages. There is a past paper question with mark scheme (June 2019) on demographics. There is also an information sheet summarising special dietary needs, what people on specific special diets can and cannot eat, and a worksheet. I’ve also included two worksheets which have been downloaded from HWB, I take no credit for these and have not charged for these as they are freely available to anyone who knows where to look!

To know and understand how awareness of competition from other providers affects hospitality and catering provision. To know and understand how environmental concerns, and seasonality impact hospitality and catering provision. Resource includes PowerPoint presentation with starter and plenary activities. The slides cover trends in the hospitality an catering industry, and seasonality. There is an activity for pupils to design a menu (will require the internet to research seasonal ingredients and to look at an existing menu). There is also an information shet and questions based on social media influence.

WJEC Health and Social Care Unit 2 Task 2: Health Promotion Support pack to prepare pupils to complete the task, includes: PowerPoint presentations with 90 slides in total covering the five sections of the work. Section A: What is health promotion? Government guidelines, health promotion topics, and choosing a target group. Section B: Positive and negative influences on the health and well being of the target group (separate Word Document Digital Helpdesk), Government guidelines and initiatives. Section C: The aims of health promotion campaigns, suitability, and availability to the target group. Section D: The advantages and disadvantages of different types of medium, credible sources, and gaining feedback. Section E: Resoures to help pupils evaluate their campaign. A set of flash cards for the life stages and milestones for physical development up to sixteen years old (glue and fold down the middle then cut out) 3. A summary of growth and development through the life stages - I get the pupils to highlight and mind map the key information as a revision exercise

Introduction to intellectual development

The set resources looks at intellectual development and introduces Piaget's Theory of cognitive development. There is a clip which I use alongside the worksheet and a PowerPoint Presentation with starter and plenary. I've also included flash cards for the stages of learning to read (need to be folded down the middle, glued and cut up).

PowerPoint presentation, blank timeline and images for pupils to create a timeline for the milestones of physical development. I use the Pamela Minett textbook for the actual milestones. There is not enough room for pupils to write the whole milestone so I get them to highlight key words and summarise the milestone in 20 words or less around the image.
